About DJM Records
DJM Records is a reflection of the taste and experience of Daniel Moore and the
people he has worked with over the last five decades. Daniel Moore is an
established musician whose accomplishments range from performance to production.
As an artist, he was signed to his first record contract in 1962, acting as his
own producer and writer. He has worked continuously as a songwriter, recording
artist, record producer, music publisher and record label president since then.
After joining Joe Cocker and Mad Dogs and Englishmen in 1970, he established himself both
on tour and in the studio as a top background vocalist for such artists as
Joe Cocker, Kim Carnes, Jennifer Warness, Richie Havens, and B.W. Stevenson.
As a writer, his hits (ie, gold records) have included "Shambala", for Three
Dog Night, and "My Maria", for B.W. Stevenson. He wrote the title cut for
Bonnie Raitt's gold album, "Sweet Forgiveness"; he has placed songs with
major artists Joe Cocker, Kim Carnes, Kenny Rogers, Waylon Jennings,
Jennifer Warness, Bobby Blue Bland, Solomon Burke, Canned Heat, David Clayton Thomas, The
Band, Maria Muldaur, The Everly Brothers, and most recently, Brooks and Dunn (My Maria) on the double
platinum CD, Borderline (Billboard award for best country single, 1996, and
just won the Grammy for best performance by a duo or group in country music,
singing My Maria, and My Maria was nominated for the best country song
and best country single by the Academy of Country Music - ACM Awards, April
23, 1997) "Fire In The Hole" co-written with Marty Grebb in the new Steven Seagal
movie, "Fire Down Below" released Sept. 5, 1997, watch for it. Check out also
"Slums of Beverly Hills," Shambala is featured in this movie (Sept 1998).
